Top international cricket players will compete in the Zim Afro T10 league’s second season, which will take place in Harare from September 21 to September 29.
Ahead of the September 8 player draft, several well-known players, including Carlos Brathwaite, Asif Ali, David Warner, and James Neesham, have been signed directly by different teams.
The six clubs will compete fiercely this season as they enhance their rosters with a combination of local Zimbabwean talent and global icons.
Before the draft, each of the six teams in the Zim Afro T10 is permitted to sign worldwide superstars and icon players directly.
These acquisitions help shape the clubs’ core before the final 15-man squads are decided. Teams will also include six local players from Zimbabwe, and following the draft, each side will have one additional global icon player.
The Bulawayo Braves Jaguars are a strong club now that they have added two of the most significant additions: West Indies all-rounder Carlos Brathwaite and Australian ace David Warner.
The Cape Town Samp Army enlisted the services of Gulbadin Naib and Qais Ahmed from Afghanistan and David Willey and Dawid Malan from England, providing them with a formidable combination of experience and expertise.
The Durban Wolves recruited Mark Chapman, Colin Munro, and Yasir Shah from New Zealand to bolster their roster.
Meanwhile, the New York Strikers Lagos added Bangladesh leg-spinner Rishad Hossain and Zimbabwean fast bowler Blessing Muzarabani to their roster.
Bangladeshi rising star Rishad Hossain, 22, has garnered media attention this year. With 14 wickets in seven matches at the T20 World Cup, he was Bangladesh’s highest wicket-taker and an invaluable asset to any team.
He also signed a contract to play in the Big Bash League (BBL) with the Hobart Hurricanes, where he will report to Ricky Ponting, a team strategy group member.

Teams like the Jo’Burg Bangla Tigers signed worldwide talents like Chris Lynn from Australia and Kusal Perera from Sri Lanka, while NYS Lagos signed Blessing Muzarabani from Zimbabwe as their worldwide superstar and Thisara Perera from Sri Lanka as their symbol player. The teams’ combination of youth and experience should make for exciting games.
The US Masters League, the Abu Dhabi T10, and the inaugural Lanka T10 are just a few of the events that make up the expanding worldwide T10 circuit, including the Zim Afro T10.
