Cricket Australia announced on Monday that Xavier Bartlett, Nathan Ellis, and Spencer Johnson have been reinstated to the Australian T20 team for the forthcoming three-match T20I series against Pakistan.
The selectors selected the three players in the 13-player roster for the series after they fully recovered from their individual injuries.
The forthcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy has not been considered for the Test regulars. After the last game in Hobart, any players from the T20 team chosen for the opening Test match against India in Perth will join the rest of the group. Intriguingly, no captain has been selected to guide the team for the three-match series without Mitchell Marsh.
Jacob Fraser-McGurk, Aaron Hardie, Josh Inglis, Spencer Johnson, Glenn Maxwell, Matthew Short, Marcus Stoinis, Adam Zampa, Xavier Bartlett, Cooper Connolly, Tim David, Nathan Ellis, and Sean Abbott comprise the SQUAD.
The combination of experience and those just beginning their overseas travels excites us. The return of Xavier, Spencer, and Nathan to the national lineup is incredibly heartening. They have another chance to demonstrate their skills on the global scene, just like they did in the past.”
The three-match ODI series between the two teams will be followed by the T20I leg, scheduled to begin on November 14.
