There are reports that Fakhar Zaman has been called for Champions Trophy and has been given priority over Younger batsmen Saim Ayub. Saim, who has been impressive recently against Zimbabwe, South Africa and Australia in their respective home series and has scored heavily in the absence of Pakistan Team’s power house Fakhar Zaman, deserved to be the final squad.
Unfortunately, during the last team match against South Africa, Saim Ayub suffered from an ankle inhury – reducing his chances to play for Pakistan.
Saim Ayub has been a promising batsmen theoughout his career, has improved alot but his injury at such a crucial time us puuting his position in the squad on stakes.
Although reports suggest that PCB will include him in the Champions Trophy squad, his recovery and form will decide whether the batesman will make it to the playing eleven or not.
In the recent news, Fakhar Zaman, who has been out of action for some time, is being reconsidered to be a part of the squad for Champions Trophy.
Wiith Abdullah Shafique’s out of form performances and Saim Ayub’s injury, Pakistan need to recall Fakhar Zaman back. Imam ul Haque might also make his comeback in place of Saim Ayub depending on his injury.
Fakhar Zaman was dropped from the team for failing fitness test and his tweet against the PCB selectors from dropping Star Better Babar Azam from the Team.
This was not taken lightly by PCB as selecting and dropping players on the basis of their strategy is the selection committee’s decision and players are not allowed to criticize the committee publically on the basis of their personal liking or disliking.
Fakhar Zaman is a player of immense talent and has played amazing match winning innings for Pakistan. Including the Champions Trophy 2017, he has proven his worth from time to time.
He has also lead Lahore Qalanders to victories various times and played amazingly in multiple series over the years. He is a player who can turn the match from any place with his strategy and talent.
His presence along with Imam or Saim can bring a strong start for Pakistan Team in the upcoming Champions Trophy 2025.
