ICC Champions Trophy schedule has finally been announced after so much discussion because of the hybrid model dilemma. The matches are now to be played at four different locations including Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi and Dubai. The opening match, however, will be played in the city of lights, Karachi.
The opening match will likely be a battle between Pakistan and New Zealand along with the opening ceremony on 19 February 2025. Then India will take on Bangladesh on 20th February in Dubai. All group-stage matches including India will take place in Dubai. In case they qualify for the semi-finals and final then these matches will also be shifted to Dubai as per the agreed hybrid model. This includes the most anticipated Pakistan vs India match to be played on 1st March 2025 as well.
Depending on the qualifying scenario, the final will be played in Lahore or Dubai.
In the tournaments, teams are divided into two groups of four, and each team plays three matches to qualify for the semi-final and then the final.
Teams in Group A include Pakistan, India, New Zealand and Bangladesh while Australia, England, South Africa and Afghanistan lie in Group B.
