With the world test championship season 2023-2025 concluding, South Africa has qualified and became the first finalist for the championship final which will be held from June 11th till 15th, at the Lords Stadium.
The first test match between. Pakistan and South Africa were the last obstacle for SA in playing the final. It was a nail-biting test match until SA finally won by two wickets.
The competition was really tough and at one point it was looking like Pakistan would take the lead but SA somehow managed to come out victorious.
They won the first match and qualified for the world test championship final. Now with South Africa qualified for the final, there are three teams that can meet South Africa in the Final.
Australia – Australia won the 4th test match against India which brought them to a very strong position. Now, they only need to win one test match out three remaining from thus cycle. They have three tests left, one against India ( Last of the BGT) and two against Sri Lanka. If they win any one of them, they will qualify for the finals.
India – India is also a very strong side but in order to qualify for the WTC final, they need to win the last test match against Australia at Sydney and hope that Australia doesn’t win any match against Sri lanka.
Sri Lanka – Sri lanka is also a contestant for the world test championship final. Their qualification relies on the result of the last test of BGT, if the last test between India and Australia ends up in a draw then Sri Lanka will have a chance to qualify for the finals.
Let’s see which team will secure the finalist spot. The last test match between India and Australia at Sydney would be very important as the fate of all three remaining teams will depend on it.
